Use the assembly plans to promote equality and human rights to the wider school

Assembly 1 - Freedom and rights

This assembly introduces human rights by exploring what freedom is and is not. It then highlights the importance of human rights by explaining that they were created to prevent the awful atrocities of the holocaust from ever happening again. The Human Rights Act is introduced to make students aware that laws exist to help to protect their human rights. Download document.

Assembly 2 - Difference and respect

This assembly gets students to appreciate that with freedom comes a diverse range of individuals. It explores the benefits of diversity and the need for everyone to respect and celebrate difference. Download document.
